The Door County Tradition of a “Fish Boil” lives on with the Fitzgerald family in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Fitzgerald’s Genoa City Junction serves all-you-can-eat North Atlantic Cod boiled in traditional outdoor kettles year-round for that one of a kind mouthwatering taste that has made us legendary.
It starts with boiling fresh potatoes and whole onions, outdoors over a wood fire. Then we add in fresh cod to each batch – and as we stir the boiling kettles, we keep adding wood to the fire and simultaneously grill our locally famous BBQ chicken and BBQ ribs. Our honey barbeque sauce is a well kept family secret that has been passed down through generations with a sweet whiskey base.
Unlike other fish boils that use trout or whitefish, the cod we serve is completely free of skin and bones. With one bite of our fish we guarantee to transform you instantly into a raving fan. Served with drawn butter, the sweet taste of the boiled cod is very close to that of lobster.
At Fitzgerald’s restaurant, our fish boil is served every night we are open, a unique all-you-care-to-eat dining experience. Our guests enjoy fish boil combinations including honey-BBQ chicken and BBQ pork ribs with a legendary secret whiskey-based sauce. Other accompaniments include award-winning coleslaw and fresh rye bread, sweet red potatoes and onions which are boiled in the pots with the fish.
